What is BATTLE BOTS?
Battle Bots is an exciting themed workshop that can be delivered over a half or full day. It covers all Key Stage 2, 3 and 4 outcomes and is an awesome way for children from 8 years old and upwards to learn about Computing.
Learners get hands-on with technology, building their own robot, experimenting with algorithms and observing robot behaviour. Working strategically, they refine their algorithms to create a Battle Bot capable of winning the final challenge!
How does BATTLE BOTS WORK?
Ahead of running a Battle Bots workshop, we supply supplementary teaching materials to help children prepare for the event. The material addresses key questions including; What is a robot? How do robots work?’ What is a program? and How are robots built?
On the day, we will demonstrate a working Battle Bot, explain its parts and teach learners what algorithms are and how they work using RFID cards. During the workshop, worksheets are completed, and these can be used in follow-up lessons to further embed learning.
The workshop culminates in a Battle Bot Tournament, ensuring an electric atmosphere and a memorable learning experience!
WHY RUN BATTLE BOTS?
Battle Bots is a great way for children to understand the basic concepts of autonomous robotics and algorithms. Our Battle Bots workshop is learner centred. Children have the opportunity to experience how a robot works and experiment with algorithms in real time to change its behaviour.

What is robo sumo?
Robo Sumo is a team lead project which covers all Key Stage 2, 3 and 4 outcomes.
Typically run over a 6-week period, Robo Sumo is a fantastic way for children from 8 years old and upwards to learn about Computing. Working in teams, they get to design, build and program autonomous robots and then test them against each other.
How does Robo Sumo Work?
Children are taught in teams and work innovatively in an atmosphere of collaboration and excellence. Our digital textbook guides learners through everyday challenges that we translate into programmable solutions.
After learning about motor control and sensor input, children put their knowledge into practical use, creating an autonomous robot. Each team progresses at their own pace and documents their learning journey.
The project culminates in a Sumo Tournament, with teams testing their robots in a series of 8 challenges. The competitive nature of the tournament adds to the excitement and helps to cement learning.
Why Run Robo Sumo?
Our Robo Sumo project gives children a foundational understanding of the basic concepts of autonomous robotics and encourages them to become independent solution seekers.
The course culminates in a Sumo Tournament, that assures an electric atmosphere to bolster learning. Importantly, it covers all Key Stage 2, 3 & 4 outcomes..

What is Maze Runner?
Maze Runner is a unique course consisting of 4 learning modules – each made up of 5 units; in total, it equates to 4 years’ worth of content.
Maze Runner powerfully transforms the way Computing is learned and enables children to achieve computing outcomes effectively.
We are in the class with teachers during each session. This is a learner centred, team course with defined roles and open-ended solution outcomes. Outcomes are assessed using our unique 3E’s of Assessment.
How does Maze Runner Work?
Maze Runner is a learner-centred team course with defined roles and open-ended solution outcomes. We are in the class with teachers during each session as children work innovatively in an atmosphere of collaboration and excellence, tackling tasks step by step.
Each task builds on the last, with learning checkpoints at each step. Teams progress at their own pace while documenting their learning journey. Every task culminates in evidence being uploaded to the Adaptive platform producing learning metrics. Outcomes are assessed using our unique 3Es of Assessment.

Why Run Maze Runner?
Maze Runner is a learning discovery system which encourages learners to become independent solution seekers.
In this way, learners take ownership of the experience and build a database of knowledge.
The database is part of the Adaptive platform. This creates an individual learning profile mapping their journey and producing metrics that inform teachers how best to enable each pupil’s potential.
